Donate Your Used Car to Help Train Long Valley First Aid Responders

Aug 10, 2023

LONG VALLEY, NJ — The Long Valley First Aid Squad recently announced that they are seeking donations of unwanted vehicles.

The donations will help the first aid squad and other emergency personnel train and prepare for real-life incidents involving motor vehicles.

"If you have a vehicle taking up room in your driveway or looking to get rid of please consider donating it to us, your clunker helps save lives," first aid squad officials said.

Vehicles donated will be used in training for personnel in the department's vehicle extrication training. The first aid squad stated that they can accept vehicles of all types, whether they are running or not.

During training, emergency personnel learn how to extract people from common passenger vehicles. This allows them to be prepared to rescue victims from a wide range of vehicle models and crash scenarios in a short period of time.

The Long Valley First Aid Squad Rescue Services hosted a Vehicle Rescue Technician course in March, which was made possible by the generosity of the local community, which donated vehicles to them for that training event.

Members of the Long Valley First Aid Squad have also stated that they will provide free pickup to anyone interested in donating, and your car donation can be used as a tax deduction because the Long Valley First Aid Squad is a non-profit, charitable organization.

Those interested can send a message through social media.

The Long Valley First Aid Squad has been providing all-volunteer service 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the past 60 years. Its volunteers provide emergency medical care, vehicle and technical rescue, and other services.
